I posted some of the older ones first and the really good ones are towards the end.

**July 4th: This A+ list Academy Award winner/nominee actress spent some two weeks ago at a Veteran's hospital. She did so quietly and without publicity. She spent time with every patient she could and when she left, she gave them all gift bags which included a $1000 gift certificate to Best Buy.
Angelina Jolie

**July 4th: This A+ list Academy Award winner/nominee actor also spent time with the troops at the same hospital. He didn't being gift bags but did stay for many hours and visited with everyone there and shared stories and listened and also didn't want any publicity for being there.

We're not sure we believe the Internet buzz that Angelina Jolie is fuming because Megan Fox has stolen her look. But we wouldn't blame Angie for being pissed at the rumors that Megan might be playing the title role -- the one Jolie made famous -- in the next Lara Croft movie (Megan has denied the story).

Still, we can't help but notice the resemblance between the two actresses, from the flowing raven-colored hair to the shoulder-blade tats. Coincidence? We'll let you be the judge. And while you're pondering the Fox vs. Jolie smackdown, take a look at these other celebs who've "borrowed" style tips from their idols.

n 2003, Hilary Duff was the preeminent teen queen; "Lizzie McGuire", her hit show on Disney, was still going strong, and her leap to the silver screen was also successful, with The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Agent Cody Banks, and Cheaper by the Dozen raking
in a combined $229,287,329. On top of her acting success, Duff's debut album Metamorphosis was the eighth best selling album of the year with 2.6 million copies sold nationwide (it would go on to be certified 4x Platinum by 2004). Now an adult, Duff has survived the perils of teenage celebrity (witness the meltdown of one-time rival Lindsay Lohan to fully grasp the dangers of youth, money, and fame) sans DUIs, sex tapes, or nude photo scandals. However, her teen queen roles have begun to dry up; 2006's Material Girls, in which she co-starred with her sister Haylie, made just over $11 million, and her third album Dignity, though well-reviewed, vastly undersold her first two. At this point, many expected Duff to fade into obscurity like so many child stars before her.

Daniel Radcliffe celebrates Harry Potter graduation by becoming art collector

Daniel Radcliffe has become a contemporary art collector, despite the best efforts of a New York dealer who wanted a more high-profile client than the world's most famous teenager.

The dealer must not have watched Radcliffe grow up year by year on camera.

The fifth film adaptation of J K Rowling's multimillion-selling books, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, opens in 12 days' time, meaning that Radcliffe, who auditioned for the first when he was 11 and is now nearly 20, has been living with the boy wizard for almost half his life. There are still two more films to go, with the final doorstep volume split into two parts.

In an interview with the Guardian Weekend magazine, Radcliffe admits he has become a rather serious young man who keeps a chart of famous authors in history on his dressing room wall and compares the Harry Potter films with those by the French director Francois Truffaut that also follow one character from 11 to 20.

It gets more interesting behind the cut, I promise )source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/jul/03/daniel-radcliffe-harry-potter-art

Michael Jackson was set to perform a duet with son Prince, 12, during his upcoming sold-out London concerts, the singer's former publicist reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

"He was planning on doing a short duet with his son, Prince," Stuart Backerman tells Us. "He knew his kids would enjoy it."

"He wanted his kids to see him perform at least once to get the vibe of the Michael Jackson mania," says Backerman of Jackson, who hadn't hit the stage since a series of 2001 tribute concerts in NYC.

Jackson – who died at age 50 after suffering cardiac arrest June 25 -- named his mother Katherine as guardian of his three children – Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7 and "intentionally" omitted Debbie Rowe, the children's biological mother, from his will. (The new Us Weekly breaks the news that the children's biological father is Arnold Klein, Jackson's L.A.-based dermatologist and Rowe's former boss.) If Katherine died before him or couldn't serve as guardian, Jackson nominated Diana Ross, according to his will.

Despite their father's passing, Jackson's kids "are happy," Jackson patriarch Joe said at a press conference Monday, adding that they're with "other young ones in the Jackson family.... They were never around other kids."

Hardly Working "Airplane"

Hardly Working is a online sketch comedy show made by the staff of the College Humor website. The College Humor Show on MTV is pretty similar to Hardly Working. In fact, some of the human resource case files were originally Hardly Working webisodes.

This was the first episode of Hardly Working I ever watched. It was awesome and random and then I had to watch all the rest of the webisodes.

Picspam is under the fake cut, along with dialog and the video embedded at the end.

Teaser:

This is a long shot, but maybe someone will be able to figure it out. I heard a song on a classical radio station but wasn't able to catch the info about it afterwards. Here's what I can tell you:

It's pretty upbeat, not really patriotic sounding but just full of energy, with quite a lot of fanfare - really awesome horns, etc.
There's a refrain that I swear sounds just like the line "on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me" from the Christmas song.
One part of it reminded my fiance of a very amped-up version of "Virginia Company" from Disney's Pocahontas (lol).
It sounded like the DJ was saying something about "Friedrich" but the only other word I could hear was "symphonic".

A Google search led me to listen to a bunch of clips of symphonies by Carl Friedrich Abel and it seems possible that it was one of his but I haven't come across anything that sounded like the one I'm looking for.

I don't listen to a whole lot of classical music but I loved this one and it would be great to be able to find it... thanks for your help!

Months of gruelling touring appears to be working wonders for Lily Allen's figure.

The Smile singer would be the first to admit she's never been exactly lithe, but she paraded a fantastically fit-looking body at her latest in a neverending run of gigs.

The 24-year-old normally plumps for maxi dresses that obscure her shape but whether it was the heat or new-found confidence there were no such hesitations at the the Werchter Rock Festival, in Belgium, yesterday.

NOTE: Extra pictures of another concert in this thread!

2 pictures and a video.... )
